 Cluster Support

ClusterVision offers a range of support packages suitable for your computational and business requirements. Our support packages can include the following support services:

Hardware Support
This includes different types of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the diagnosis, maintenance, repair or replacement of faulty hardware. SLAs can vary from one-year, return-to-base hardware support to life-time, onsite, 4-hour-response hardware support.

ClusterVisionOS™
This includes different types of SLAs for the maintenance, diagnosis and solution of any problems related to the ClusterVisionOS. ClusterVisionOS support also includes software upgrades. This form of support is aimed at system administrators.

Administration Support
The purpose of system administration support is to relief system administrators of part or all of their system administration tasks. This can include hardware health monitoring, security monitoring, backup management, user/group administration and software installation and updating. If required we can take over the full administration of your cluster by a combination of remote administration and monitoring, help desk support and onsite administration.

User support
For sites with a large user base, we can setup dedicated help desk services tailor-made for your users, your business infrastructure and your clustering setup. With such a service all your users can call us directly to request accounts, CPU time or job scheduling privileges on your cluster. Users can also call our helpdesk directly with their questions on cluster access, parallel programming and compilation, and queue usage.

Online support
ClusterVision customers can get access to our online support pages with software updates, manuals and the User Wiki.

Cluster Hosting
Would you like to purchase your own cluster but don't have the space to host it? We can arrange for your cluster to be hosted and looked after at a secure remote site where ample space, power and air-conditioning is available.

We offer this service in conjunction with some local supercomputer and data centres. The cluster will remain your property, but you will pay a monthly rent which depends on the size of your cluster. The cluster will be accessible over a high-bandwidth secure internet connection.

Please call or email us for more information.

 Cluster Training

We offer various options for cluster administrator and user training. Training is provided by qualified cluster engineers and can be provided to individuals or small or large groups. Tailor-made training on various topics is also available.

The administrator training covers all relevant aspects of the ClusterVisionOS™, including image management, boot process, power management, parallel tools, monitoring, queue configuration and management.

The user training covers topics relevant for users, including cluster access and login, compilers and libraries, parallel programming and using the queuing system.

 Parallel Programming Courses

ClusterVision can provide you with parallel programming courses, varying from half a day to a full week, and for small or large audiences. We can provide courses as part of a cluster purchase or as a separate course. Courses can cover parallel programming in MPI, PVM, HPF or OpenMP, in combination with Fortran or C/C++. Any course can be tailor-made to your specific cluster architecture and your specific application area.

Courses are taught by our own parallel programming experts or external experts. Our course teachers all have Masters or PhDs in different areas of applied science, often combined with lecturing experience at European universities. Courses can be taught at your premises or at our own training centre.

 Benchmarking & Code Optimisation

ClusterVision's experienced programmers can help you benchmark and optimise your application code for maximum performance and scalability on our clusters. Our programming services include benchmarking, code porting, code optimisation and code parallellisation. These services can be used for making small or large improvements to existing parallel code, but also for complete, grounds-up parallellisation of a single threaded application.

Our particular expertise is in the programming languages Fortran and C/C++, in combination with MPI, PVM, HPF and OpenMP.
