ClusterVision, specialist in Linux supercomputer clusters, has received an award from the Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce in the 23rd Anglo-Dutch Awards for Enterprise. This prestigious award, in the category for "Dutch Exporters" was presented by Heineken CEO, Mr Anthony Ruys, last Thursday November 18, 2004, at the Institute of Directors in London.
The jury stated: "The judges were impressed with the way this company developed its product and the manner in which they have been able to sell it to some very prestigious and demanding clients, like the Universities of Oxford, Manchester, Leeds and Imperial College, as well as the atomic research establishment in the UK."
Dr ir Matthijs van Leeuwen, Sales Director for ClusterVision, commenting that he was very pleased to receive the award, added: "After winning the Vosko prize for 'Technological break through' and being voted one of the 15 most innovative companies in the Netherlands, this Anglo-Dutch Award for Enterprise has again confirmed that our focus on technology, services and customer care is the right one. In recognising the technical expertise within ClusterVision I consider this award in particular a result of our success and expansion in the UK market space."
About the Anglo-Dutch Award for Enterprise Since Their Royal Highnesses Prince Bernhardt of the Netherlands and The Duke of Kent presented the first Anglo-Dutch Award for Enterprise in 1981, the Award has established itself as one of the major annual business awards both in the Netherlands and the UK. The idea is that by showing successful ventures in Anglo-Dutch trade to the world, other entrepreneurs would be stimulated to explore the industrial and commercial possibilities the United Kingdom and The Netherlands have to offer each other.
The Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce is delighted that Royalty and a large number of very prominent politicians and businessmen in both countries have agreed to be associated with it. This year Anthony Ruys, Chairman of Heineken gave the key-note lecture during the award luncheon and presented the trophies to the Award winners. In previous years, the trophies were presented by, The Rt. Hon. Margaret Thatcher MP, The Rt. Hon. Michael Heseltine MP, HE Dr Ruud Lubbers, Dr Frits Bolkestein, Dr Cor Boonstra, amongst others.
