8 april 2005 ClusterVision wordt Cray reseller en ontvangt order voor Cray XD1™ supercomputer van TNO ClusterVision, specialist in Linux supercomputer clusters, is Cray Channel Partner geworden voor de verkoop van de Cray XD1™ supercomputer in de Benelux. ClusterVision heeft tevens haar eerste order voor een Cray XD1 ontvangen van TNO Industrie en Techniek. De 36 AMD Opteron™ processoren tellende Cray XD1 zal binnenkort bij TNO in Delft worden geinstalleerd voor gebruik in onderzoek naar ultrageluid en stromingsgeluid. Na een zorgvuldig selectieproces heeft Cray ClusterVision geselecteerd als reseller van de Cray XD1 supercomputer in de Benelux. ClusterVision voegt het Cray XD1 systeem toe aan haar bestaande productportfolio wat bestaat uit reken-, dataopslag- en database clusters op basis van Intel® and AMD processoren.

Samen bieden we een exceptionele oplossing voor HPC gebruikers." TNO Industrie en Techniek heeft een grote expertise in het ontwerpen en inspecteren van complexe industriële installaties. Een veel gebruikte inspectiemethode is gebaseerd op ultrageluid. TNO heeft verschillende numerieke simulatiecodes ontwikkeld om realistisch ultrageluidmetingen te simuleren. Daarnaast heeft TNO software ontwikkeld voor de voorspelling van stromingsgeluid. Voorbeelden hiervan zijn geluid en trillingen afkomstig van drukregelaars en pijpleidingen en interieurgeluid in auto's als gevolg van omstroming van de cabine, de buitenspiegels en de ruitenwissers.
