Patrick Chevaux Joins ClusterVision as Manager Switzerland

ClusterVision, specialist in supercomputer clusters, is pleased to announce that Patrick Chevaux has joined its European sales force as Manager Switzerland. Patrick Chevaux will be driving sales in Switzerland as well doing some business development in parts of the southern and central European market, leveraging his extensive network of contacts in the High Performance Computing (HPC) market. He will be based from ClusterVision's new Swiss head office in Geneva.

"Patrick is a real HPC industry veteran with a wealth of experience and contacts in the HPC market in general and Europe in particular. We are very pleased to have Patrick on our sales team to boost sales in Switzerland and elsewhere in Europe," said Dr ir Matthijs van leeuwen, Sales Director of ClusterVision.

Patrick Chevaux comments: "In my previous roles, representing InfiniBand companies, I worked with ClusterVision and followed their impressive growth and success as a specialist HPC cluster company. I am delighted to now be part of their sales team and look forward to introducing ClusterVision to my existing and new contacts".

Patrick Chevaux has built an extensive experience in the HPC market. Having graduated in Paris (Diplôme d'Ingénieur EFREI) in 1971, he worked for Framatome on improving performance of large programs performing nuclear reactor simulations on high-end multi-processor Control Data 6000/7000 scientific computers. He carried on developing his scientific computing skills at EPFL, the Swiss Polytechnic Institute in Lausanne. In 1976 he joined Digital Equipment Corporation as real-time and networking specialist, supporting large HEP (High Energy Physics) research sites such as Geneva-based CERN. Patrick worked 22 years for DEC in multiple roles and locations including Systems Engineering, Product Management & Marketing, and Customer Liaison. In 1984 he was the main force behind the creation of DEC's European Customer/Technology Centre established in Sophia Antipolis.

More recently, Patrick has been deeply involved in the InfiniBand cluster interconnect hardware and software, in particular by starting European operations for startups like InfiniSwitch, Fabric Networks and Voltaire and most recently by helping to bring Cisco into the public/enterprise HPC worlds.
