ClusterVision Reports Another Record Year

ClusterVision, specialist in Linux supercomputer clusters, today announced another record year as leading supplier of Linux supercomputer clusters in Europe. The number of clusters installed in 2005 was more than double that in 2004. ClusterVision also built upon market share with new customer wins in addition to considerable repeat business from existing customers.

2005 Represents the year of major breakthrough into Germany's HPC market with the award of several large scale projects through competitive tender. These included a 480 AMD Opteron™ processor compute cluster with InfiniBand for the University of Dortmund (LiDO) (see press release) and a 412 AMD Opteron Dual-Core processor compute cluster with Myrinet for the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. In Switzerland, ClusterVision was awarded a contract for a 750 processor Intel® Xeon™ processor compute cluster for CERN in Geneva.

In the UK, the number of clusters installed by ClusterVision was double that in 2004, with continued success in UK Academia and new industry customers. ClusterVision also achieved new success in Ireland with installations in Galway and Cork. One particularly interesting installation is the 418 Intel Xeon EM64T processor compute and 84TB storage cluster at the University of Lancaster, which was the largest Intel 64-bit cluster in the UK (see press release).

Furthermore in 2005, ClusterVision was named Reseller of the Cray XD1™ Supercomputer in the Benelux and France, which was quickly followed by winning an order from TNO Science and Industry for a 36 processor Cray XD1 (see press release).

As a result of these substantial achievements throughout 2005, further investments and improvements were made in our cluster operating system and software environment, the ClusterVisionOS™. In parallel to the further development of the current version of ClusterVisionOS, some of our programmers are working on an exciting next-generation version of the ClusterVisionOS, parts of which will be ready for deployment in Q3, 2006.

As a Company, ClusterVision expanded significantly with the recruitment of both sales and technical staff, including the appointment of Gerhard A. Holzner as regional manager for Germany, Switzerland and Austria (see press release), and the recruitment of four high-end engineering staff dedicated to our largest geographical markets, UK and Germany. To accomodate the continued growth, the company's head quarters were relocated to a larger office and production facility in Amsterdam.
